Curriculum Vitae
Sheridan Winn's career began with a graphic design degree and a thesis that became her first book, 'Barns & Granaries'.
After completing a postgraduate teaching degree, she set up Chris Winn Associates with Chris Winn. The partnership provided illustrations and cartoons to a wide range of high-profile clients in advertising, design and publishing. These included: IBM, American Express, KPMG, IKEA, Barclays Bank, John Lewis Partnership, Walker Books, BBC, Daily Telegraph, The Times, The Observer, The Independent, Express Newspapers, FHM Magazine.
As well as having creative input, Sheridan's focus was on business development. She was responsible for sales and marketing, licensing and rights, account and project management over an extensive array of projects - from children's books to cross-track posters for the Tube, magazine illustration to multimedia design.
For over seven years, CWA produced the well-known 'Mad Gadget' cartoon series, which featured every Saturday on the back page of the Daily Telegraph's 'Young Telegraph'. The strip about the crazy antics of a boy inventor - based on their son - was the most popular cartoon in the newspaper. A 'Mad Gadget' computer game, children's book and television development followed.
In 2000, Sheridan had a change of direction and began her career as a journalist. She quickly carved a niche as a writer for leading magazines and newspapers. Since then, she has been deputy editor on Industry magazine, founding editor of MindBullets from the Future™ and writer and editor for Cranfield University's Praxis Centre.
She has successfully completed the following Praxis Centre management programmes: High Performance Leadership (2001); Organisational & Interpersonal Skills in Management (2005) and Increasing Personal Power (2005).
Sheridan lives in England and Sydney. In her spare time she sails, goes bush walking, does yoga, enjoys anything artistic, listens to music and plans the screenplay she intends to write. She has two grown-up children and no pets. |
